Annie Clark's Fear the Future tour, on which she's promoting her new album MASSEDUCTION, stopped by London last night (October 17). Happily, I was there, and can confirm that she's going to save the world via the sheer power of rock music and knee-high boots. And even more happily, while she was in town, she had some spare time to perform a few acoustic tracks for the listeners of Annie Mac's show on the BBC's Radio 1.The 22-minute set included acoustic versions of singles "Los Ageless" and "New York," and it's especially nice to hear the latter, a piano ballad, actually performed on the guitar, which has grown to be Clark's signature instrument, considering how awesome she is at playing it. As a further treat, she also covered The Clash's "London Calling," which seemed fitting considering her location. It's obviously slightly more subdued than the original, but Clark's voice communicates Joe Strummer's fundamental urgency with its breathiness and verve. Listen below.Follow Noisey on Twitter.
