Hold On Tight For Catholic Action's "Propaganda" Video

Could this be the greatest work of art budgeted at the small price of $7.68?

As Heath Ledger's Joker says in Batman: The Dark Knight… "Why… so… serious?" Music doesn't always have to be sincere. It doesn't have to tickle the eardrums of an audiophile. Sometimes it can just be a lot of fucking fun; a way to release steam from the forever-turning carousel of life.

The latest video from Catholic Action, "Propaganda", is a perfect example of music that breeds excitement. Rattling along at breakneck speed, it's couched in the semantics of stumbling through a dank indie club night feeling like the king of the world but also not wanting to be there at all. And it sounds fucking great.

Directed by frontman Chris McCory, the cost of the video came to a grand total of £7.68. "We made this in our rehearsal room with whatever we could find there," he says. "Same space and same VHS camera we used for our previous video, "Breakfast". The subtitles are in Chinese, kindly translated by Yangi Angie He from our label."

Here's a breakdown of those costs below.

Morrisons Savers Wrapping Foil (x4) : £2.68
Morrisons Flowers (x2): £5.00
Chris' Sister's Strobe Light: Free
Jamie's pile of old NME magazines: Free
Chinese Translation: Free
