What the Hell are the Mets Doing?

Noah Syndergaard AND Matt Harvey will pitch tomorrow.
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

It's Friday, which means I don't have a lot of "time" for "work," so I'm gonna make this quick. Here is a list of facts:

  • Mets ace Noah Syndergaard has been on the disabled list since April 28 with a tear in his right lat muscle.
  • He looked poised to come off the DL on September 8, but then experienced soreness and so that was delayed because he's their best pitcher and the team is built around young pitching.
  • Former Mets ace Matt Harvey has struggled with injuries and, uh, other stuff this season so much so that he is having arguably the worst season by any Mets starting pitcher ever.
  • Glendon Rusch pitched for the Mets.
  • Heading into tonight's game, the Mets are 65-87, 27 games behind Washington in the division, and 16.5 games out of the last wild card spot.
  • There are nine games left in the season. (Which, you know from the last bullet point, is definitely meaningless.)
