J. Prince Says Drake Won't Respond to PUSHA-T

"The Story of Adidon" was so brutal that their beef may be over. For now.

When PUSHA-T released 'DAYTONA' late last month, the world had no clue that all hell was going to break loose. "Infared" sparked "Duppy Freestyle" and "The Story of Adidon" and for rap fans, it felt like a tennis match between rappers. The latter did the most to shift Drake's otherwise flawless public perception, using a photo of Drake in blackface as the cover art and revealing details of an alleged son the rapper kept private. It's been almost a week since Push's response, and we haven't received anything from Drake but a statement clarifying the photo's origin. People really wanted to know if we'd get more bars from Drake, but now that his OG and CEO of Rap-a-Lot Records, J. Prince has stepped in, that's looking more and more unlikely.

In an interview with DTLR Radio on Saturday, J. Prince revealed that he's told Drake not to respond to PUSHA-T. "I made an OG call to Drake this morning, telling him, I don't want you to respond to this," he said. "We gon' put this to bed because we can't get in a pigpen with pigs because pigs turn into hogs and hogs get slaughtered." According to Prince, Push's response got too disrespectful when he brought Drake's parents and his friend 40, who suffers from MS into it.

J. Prince has a deep history of defending literally everyone, and this isn't the first time he's helped Drake. Drake is liable to listen to J. Prince not only because he has his son to thank for introducing him to Lil Wayne, but Prince was on his side after the rapper was in an altercation with Diddy. Without hearing a peep from Drake, it's probably safe to say that the beef between the two rappers is off. But, if we're being honest here, it feels a little premature to end now. Drake, we need you to have the same energy that spawned "Charged Up" and "Back to Back." It's a real watershed moment to see Drake lose at his own game, becoming the meme that he turned Meek into three years ago. But, his silence also makes sense because he knows he'll drop something to make us dance on Scorpion that makes us forget about this all.
