American synthesizer manufacturers Moog have announced a pretty wonderful lineup for their 2016 Moogfest, set to take place May 19-22 in Durham, North Carolina.At the top of the bill is electronic music pioneer Gary Numan, who will perform his first three albums Replicas, Pleasure Principle and Telecon over the course of three nights. Equally legendary experimentalist Laurie Anderson will present a solo performance, titled "The Language of the Future," that will incorporate music and storytelling. Wu Tang-affiliate and legend in his own right GZA will also hold a two-night residency.Among the other artists performing are Robert Hood, The Orb, Kode9, Via App, DJ Harvey, Hieroglyphic Being, Lotic, Juliana Huxtable, Julia Holter, Oneohtrix Point Never, Sun Ra Arkestra, and more.There is also a "Future Thought" portion of the bill, which will feature panels, workshops, and installations from the likes of Mark Mothersbaugh, Bootsy Collins, and The Haxan Cloak, as well as a conversation about transhumanism presented by the first human cyborg, Neil Harbisson, and an Afrofuturism program curated by Chuck Lightning, of Janelle Monáe's Wondaland Arts Society.You can read the full details of the lineup here and purchase your tickets here.Watch synthesist and comic improviser Reggie Watts, who will also perform, announce the lineup in improvised form:Follow Alexander on Twitter.
