Moogfest Announces Wonderfully Diverse 2016 Lineup

Featuring special presentations from Gary Numan, Laurie Anderson, and GZA, as well as performances from so many other great artists.

American synthesizer manufacturers Moog have announced a pretty wonderful lineup for their 2016 Moogfest, set to take place May 19-22 in Durham, North Carolina.

At the top of the bill is electronic music pioneer Gary Numan, who will perform his first three albums Replicas, Pleasure Principle and Telecon over the course of three nights. Equally legendary experimentalist Laurie Anderson will present a solo performance, titled "The Language of the Future," that will incorporate music and storytelling. Wu Tang-affiliate and legend in his own right GZA will also hold a two-night residency.

There is also a "Future Thought" portion of the bill, which will feature panels, workshops, and installations from the likes of Mark Mothersbaugh, Bootsy Collins, and The Haxan Cloak, as well as a conversation about transhumanism presented by the first human cyborg, Neil Harbisson, and an Afrofuturism program curated by Chuck Lightning, of Janelle Monáe's Wondaland Arts Society.
