President Trump has claimed the US is prepared to act alone to "solve" the threat posed by North Korea's weapons program. Speaking ahead of a visit by Chinese president Xi Jinping to Mar-a-Lago this week, Trump said: "If China is not going to solve North Korea, we will… China will either decide to help us with North Korea, or they won't."—Financial Times

Kushner Visits Iraq with American Military
Jared Kushner, President Trump's senior adviser and son-in-law, traveled to Iraq Monday with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joseph Dunford. Among other key roles, the Trump administration has tasked Kushner with serving as a peace envoy to the Middle East.—CNN

Chicago Police Seek Second Teen for Arrest Over Sexual Assault
The Chicago Police Department is looking to arrest a 15-year-old boy in connection with the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl, an incident that was streamed on Facebook Live. A 14-year-old has already been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, among other charges. Somali Pirates Hijack Indian Ship
