You Can Listen to an Entire EP of KFC Rockabilly Jingles by Fred Armisen Right Now, but Should You?

Nashville sounds for Nashville chicken.

This year has already seen food brands make their own music as elaborate viral promotions to stunning effect, and KFC is now seeking to join the fray, with a twist of prestige. The company's moving into the apparently trendy realm of Nashville hot chicken and they've recruited Fred Armisen to write and record a two-song EP of rockabilly jingles for limited-edition vinyl release in record stores across the US, according to the official site. It's like something the equally Nashvillean Third Man Records would do, but with less balloons dropping albums off in random locations.

Armisen has worn many hats in his musical career but the closest he's come to wearing a full-on cowboy hat was when he made that Southern rock band on SNL once. The A Short Programme Featuring the Nashville Colonel and his Fabulous Band EP (phew) is ragged and rough, and a somewhat confusing listen overall. Anyway, if you're truly inclined, you can listen to the entire effort via KFC's Soundcloud and I can't believe I just put those two words together in a sentence.
