Sharam Released 'Retroactive,' His First Album in Seven Years

In 2009, Sharam released Get Wild, his debut solo album. Now, the producer and one half of the electronic duo Deep Dish returns with Retroactive, his first solo album in seven years. Like previous efforts as a solo artist and with Deep Dish, Retroactive features collaborators as far ranging as the iconic Giorgio Moroder and singer-songwriter Daniel Bedingfield.

But unlike his debut, Sharam used this new record to pay homage to his music influences across electronic music, from the 80s synth pop and disco of Moroder to drum 'n bass. In a series of tweets, Sharam explained how the beauty of the underground shaped his new record.

Music goes through 'trend' periods. Someone does something unique that works, then in comes the copycats followed by the inevitable backlash
