Everybody's got a hobby, and James Beswick's hobby is racing RC cars. Now, using an Ultimaker 3D printer, he's designed the fastest 3D-printed RC car to date—his latest creation can go over 100 miles per hour. This Ultimaker-produced video shows the stages of Beswick's process as well as the end result in action.

Beswick cites the customization that allowed him by the 3D printing process as the reason for his success, saying it "sped up the building process significantly." The 3D printer also allowed him to choose his own building material: he went with a PLA/PHA blend filament for a combination of shock absorption and sturdiness.

Beswick says he's going for the world speed record for RC cars, which is an insane 202 miles per hour. Even if he doesn't make it, his efforts are already impressive.
