Julep Season Is Upon Us

While the mint julep is a classic warm-weather drink, the zing of fresh lemon juice promises to make it all the more thirst-quenching.

Heavens to Betsy, I do say it's getting hot as Hades outside. Sure, there are still some pesky cold fronts out there, but it's climbing well into the 70s and 80s for the more fortunate of us.

Toddy season is certainly over (until next year, friends), and as far as we can see, it's all juleps from here on out (though we can certainly save space for an Old Fashioned or some whiskey, cider, and rosemary punch).

But what we love about this Mint Julep Lemonade is how it strikes the perfect balance between laid-back and boozy. While a mint julep is classic, the zing of fresh lemon juice promises to make it all the more thirst-quenching, and maybe prevent us from blacking out before 4 PM should we opt to have three of these on a lazy afternoon.

And you can bet that many times this summer, we will.
