Ball to the Face Lays Out Goalkeeper

Paderborn keeper Lukas Kruse took a screaming soccer ball straight to the dome. He never stood a chance.

Paderborn lost to Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in Bundesliga action yesterday and if the loss weren't enough, their keeper Lukas Kruse got a face tattoo of a soccer ball to go along with it. The blast came off the foot of Stefan Kiessling in the 79th minute and there was no deflection, or cheeky deception on the angle or pace, just a full-on blast to face. Cripes.

Leverkusen kindly played the ball out while Kruse was on his back recovering. Medics soon came out to take a look at him and he gingerly got to his feet and remained in the game, but…maybe he shouldn't have? It was still just 1-0 at that point. Paderborn conceded two more goals in the next 15 minutes, both to Son Heung-min.
