Mark Teixeira hit a solo shot of his own in the ninth to tie the game and two batters later, Headley got the moment we've all daydreamed about while taking practice swings in the backyard. He knew it as soon as it left his bat and he was fired up.

His joy is in stark contrast to Uehara's equally instantaneous hangdog disappointment. And here's the thing: these teams kind of stink, the Red Sox especially. The Yankees, four games behind the Mariners, are trying to worm their way into the second wild card spot while Boston has the same record as the Houston Astros.
