Francis Kone Saves Goalkeeper from Choking on His Own Tongue After Collision

According to Kone, it was the fourth time he's had to do this.

Czech league striker Francis Kone made the save of a lifetime in a match Saturday, and it had nothing to do with sweeping aside a soccer ball from a goal mouth. Kone, who plays for Slovacko, came to the rescue of Bohemians goalkeeper Martin Borkovec, who was in danger of swallowing his tongue and choking after a violent collision with teammate Daniel Krch.

With the official frantically motioning for help and Borkovec motionless on the ground, Kone acted quickly before two other Bohemians came to aid him. Kone, a 26-year-old originally from Togo, acted as though he had done this before.

He was such a natural in saving Borkovec's life because he had done this before. Later on, Kone revealed it was the fourth time he saved someone else's bacon on a soccer field, "following two incidents in Africa and one in Thailand," the Associated Press reports. What is happening around Kone that all of these other players are swallowing their tongues and he has to rescue them? What brand of soccer are they playing out there in the world these days?

Borkovec was properly grateful, going on Facebook in order to thank Kone "for his quick action in saving me." He was also the only real winner here; Bohemians and Slovacko played to a scoreless draw.
