Watch Craig Sager's Heartbreaking, Uplifting Final TV Interview

In his final interview, you bet your ass Sager got into a dope-ass blue floral blazer.

"Nobody knows how long they have left on Earth. There's no guarantees. And for me, when they tell you—not once, twice, three times—that you've got a couple weeks to live, or a couple months, you have to determine how you want to do that."

Craig Sager would not be cheated in the final final few weeks of his life. After doctors told him there was nothing more that could be done to treat the leukemia ravaging his body, Sager went out on the weekend to watch his son and daughter play basketball. He celebrated his 14th wedding anniversary the following week. Only then did he finally rest, taken from the world last Thursday at the age of 65 after a three-year battle with cancer.

His final television interview, with Jim Axelrod of CBS News is both a haunting testament to cancer's physical toll and an uplifting portrait of a man who brought joy to the people around him until the very end. And you bet your ass Sager slipped into a dope-ass blue floral blazer before getting in front of the camera.

"I feel like I'm fighting not only for myself and my family," Sager said, "but I feel I am fighting for everybody who has cancer."

Scores of people have been touched by Sager's battle, as evidenced by the small mountain of fan mail he read from beside his hospital bed. "People say, 'I've been a negative person all my life, and you changed my life. Now I'm more positive and happier.'"

These last few images of Sager, the man, are difficult to watch. But his message, his legacy, will live much longer in our hearts.
