Good morning, America. Welcome to the VICE Sports World News Roundup. Be sure to stop by daily for your morning headlines.

It's the 16th of December, 2015, and Sepp Blatter is still, technically, president of FIFA.

U.S. soccer legend Abby Wambach will play her final match tonight.

The story of Jonah Lomu, the New Zealand rugby star who died last month, aged 40, keeps getting sadder. According to a report in the Independent, Lomu was "entangled in debt" when he died. A fund has been set up to collect donations for his two sons, ages five and six.

Things are not going well at Chelsea. This is not news. It looks like Roman Abramovich, who owns Chelsea, might finally fire Jose Mourinho. The club's board held an "emergency meeting" today.

There were some cup matches around Europe last night. Bayern Munich needed this ridiculous goal to get past Darmstadt. Bayer Leverkusen also beat Unterhaching, 3-1, a game that included a Chicharito goal (duh). He's having a good season, if you haven't heard.

Chicharito already has as many goals in 21 games with Leverkusen as he had in 73 games with Man U and Real Madrid. — ESPN (@espn)December 15, 2015

The New York Times has an interesting write-up on Soccer Leaks, a website that says it has "at least 300 gigabytes of information" on murky financial dealings in the world of soccer. Where it got this information, and who is behind the website, are not totally clear. It's already having an impact, however. After some questionable practices involving third party ownership, FC Twente has been "banned from European competition for three seasons and fined $49,405."

In the U.S., people were pissed off that Serena Williams beat American Pharoah, the racehorse, for Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the year award. In the U.K., there is also a controversy brewing, this one far more legitimate. People are angry because boxer Tyson Fury, an accomplished misogynist and noted homophobe, is on the shortlist for the BBC's award. Protests are planned, and he hasn't even won anything yet.

Photo of the Day

Not a recent photo, obviously. But here's to Abby Wambach, pictured holding the World Cup trophy, who is one of the best soccer players the U.S. will ever produce.
