Patrick Peterson Gets Some Redemption, Carson Palmer Throws it Away

Carson Palmer's struggles continue in the worst way possible.

Patrick Peterson was putting together a rough game against the Panthers, but it looked like he redeemed himself with a huge interception at the end of the first half. Midway through the second quarter, he muffed a punt and gave the ball back to Carolina at the Arizona 46. On the very next play, the Panthers went right back at him and he got toasted by Ted Ginn, Jr. and had to grab his jersey just to prevent a touchdown (assuming Ginn actually caught it, anyway). The Panthers eventually scored on a Cam Newton one-yard touchdown and took a 24-7 lead.

On the Cardinals first play on the following possession, Carson Palmer fumbled the ball when Charles Johnson hit his arm before he threw and the Panthers recovered. Things looked desperate for Arizona, but then Cam Newton missed long for Ed Dickson and hit Peterson square in the chest. Peterson returned it 72 yards to the Carolina 22, and he might have gone all the way if not for Ted Ginn's blazing speed. All of a sudden, things were slightly less desperate for Arizona. Then Carson Palmer threw a brutal interception on the very next play.

Carolina took the ball at the 20 with 49 seconds and just kneeled on it to take a 24-7 lead into the half.
