Watch Shanghai Hardcore Punks Spill Your Guts Run Wild Across Russia

Is there anything more punk than spending two weeks touring through Russia, playing nine shows and traveling over 300 miles on the Trans-Siberian railway? We don’t think so, but if you want proof, check out the latest music video from Spill Your Guts. The Shanghai-based hardcore punk band documented the experience in their music video for “Get Impaled,” a track off their 2017 album, Hungry Crows.

Shot by Laura Imkamp, the video follows the band as they trek from Tomsk to St. Petersburg, have arm wrestling matches with old Russian dudes, participate in protests against Vladimir Putin, and find themselves at underground wrestling matches and Russian bathhouses. Brace yourself: the song is as electric as the insane mosh pits at the band’s shows and as aggressive as the vodka shots they slam at lunchtime.

While they call Shanghai home, the members of Spill Your Guts are originally from Russia, Canada, Denmark, and Scotland. Their punk sound that transcends borders, and “Get Impaled” is a testament to that—a high-stamina track that showcases their wild journey from Shanghai to the Russian underground.
