We hear nothing from Bowie for a decade and then BAM he is EVERYWHERE! A V&A retrospective of his outfits! A new record! Just the other week we wrote an extensive article about how you can chart Bowie's creative and musical evolution through his hair. (You really can.) And now, a what? A campaign with a luxury designer? Damn son, you've been bizzy.

Of course getting Bowie to star in a Romain Gavras-directed, Louis Vuitton ad is a major coup for the brand, but we can't help but be entertained by how this win is being treated: like it's the premiere for some hot new, hyped TV show or something. Below are some stills from it, but you won't actually be able to watch the full commercial—shot in Venice #glamor—until November 7. Where can you watch it? Only via an app, while in the UK it will be screened during Homeland on Channel 4 on November 10. Yeesh.

This second installment the three-part commerical blockbuster campaign kicked off with this Inez and Vinoodh-directed short (below) where Arizona Muse gracefully gallivants around Paris before escaping in a hot air balloon.

In the David Bowie segment Muse will land in Venice's Piazza San Marco, when she She will then flounce off to a masked ball—what else is there to do in Venice really?—where Bowie will appear banging on a harpsichord.

"David Bowie is an iconic artist," said a Louis Vuitton spokesperson. "He was seduced by the role we asked him to play and by the idea of re-orchestrating the song 'I'd Rather Be High.'" No doubt he was seduce by the $$ too. Not hating, just saying!

We are of course interested in seeing the finished piece, but will probably wait till YouTube gets it up, because downloading an app is just too much work. But thus far, this is our favorite still from the promo: Bowie giving Muse the stink-eye.
