Starwalker's Video for "Blue Hawaii" Is Interstellar and Super Chill

Air’s Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Bardi Johannsson of Iceland’s Bang Gang head to the cosmos.

Hey guys! Hot topic alert! Space. Comets. The future. Appocalypse. Escaping our planet. Everybody—let's get the hell outta here! Above is the premiere of the video for "Blue Hawaii," a twinkly, cosmically mellow cut from a relatively new duo on the block, Starwalker. For those uninitiated, Air’s Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Bardi Johannsson of Iceland’s Bang Gang released their debut EP—Losers Can Win—earlier this year and their vibe will find favor with fans of Chromatics, and yes, air. It's synthy, spacey, and very, very chill.

Where previous videos have seen them looking confused and emotionless in a strange land ("Bad Weather"), or impassive and odd in what can best be described as a tongue-in-cheek nod to Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" ("Losers Can Win"), this short Dunckel describes as "a dream about searching for sounds." He continues: "Starwalker walks to find the source of it and we’re surrounded by people hiding in the cosmos as they would guide us in this travel.”

Sounds a lot less complicated and less stressful than Interstellar. Thinking about it, this is the perfect calm-yourself-song to listen to after Interstellar. I don't know about you, but I cried four times in that film and left the movie feeling as confused about existence as when I tried to fill out my tax return for the first time.

In any case, Starwalker will have a full-length out next year, but until then turn this up float on my friend.
