Crystal Fighters' New Video for “You & I” is Totally Sadorable

"Sadorable" is a portmanteau of the words "sad" and "adorable," which is the only adjective that can describe Crystal Fighters’ new video for “You & I,” from their upcoming album Cave Rave. Get ready to feel some feelings, you guys.

The video stars an unlikely pair: a toe-tappin’ little bird and a tree that looks like a distant relative of that raspy-voiced dickhead that throws apples at Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. What was his deal?

The tree in this video, on the other hand, is much more laid back. The tree and the bird—we’ll call them Kevin and Jennifer—are best friends. Are they more than friends? I don’t know, you tell me. I was sort of getting that whole “will-they-won’t-they” vibe. They just like to hang out and sing and feel their leaves and feathers blowing in the wind, respectively. Until one day, something happens, and then the whole thing turns into a 17th century Italian opera, albeit one with a catchy upbeat diddy.

Earth Day was a few days ago, but that doesn’t mean we should stop thinking about Earth and all the trees and birds that live on it with us who might maybe sort of hanging out and seeing where it goes.
