PREMIERE: Get Lost in Ancient Ocean's New Ambient Odyssey, "Blood Moon"

Ancient Ocean is all about synth, lightly textured drones, and the wide-open spaces in between. For years, composer J.R. Bohannon busied himself with a long run of CD-R and cassette releases, but he's finally made the leap to vinyl (and CD, and digital) with Blood Moon, his upcoming first full-length for Beyond Beyond is Beyond Records (out June 30).

As lonesome and introspective as this kind of sweetly-swelling ambient music can be, Ancient Ocean called upon a few friends to aid in the realiation of his vision for this new LP: Jonas Reinhardt and Mark Demolar of Woodsman guest on on the title track (streaming below) and Aaron Martin and Destruction Unit's J.S. Aurelius make an appearance on the track “Beargrass Creek.”
