Braveyoung's Isaac Jones Survives Brutal Car Crash, Will Live Without a Skullcap for at Least Two Months

His twin brother and family are reaching out to help recoup the costs.

Braveyoung is a beloved post-rock and experimental band from Portland, Oregon. In the past, the band has put out amazing records like their split with The Body, Nothing Passes and their full length We Are Lonely Animals. On September 22, 2015 member of Braveyoung, Isaac Jones was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. During his ride home from work, a large van crossing four lanes of traffic pulled in front of him, resulting in Isaac hitting the passenger side door, and going through the passenger side window. Jones incured several injuries including a broken arm and wrist. The most troubling of injuries is he incurred bleeding on his brain, resulting in an emergency brain surgery from doctors to allow his brain to swell. This surgery required his skull cap to be removed from 2-6 months.

His injuries and rehabilitation will be great, and his twin brother and bandmate Zachary are reaching out for any help in recouping the costs of the surgery and the further rehabilitation required. Of the incident, he writes:

"So here we are, 6 days after the accident, stepping away from his bedside for the first time and understanding that the financial implications are becoming very real in his and our lives. The road to recovery for Isaac involves 24 hour care, most of which will be provided by me personally, and the help of our amazing community of friends. There are the simple things to understand, such as costs for medicine, food, speech and cognitive therapy, physical therapy, etc. and the harder thing to comprehend, which is the fact that not only Isaac, but the people involved in his care are not going to be able to maintian any normal job hours to pay typical living expenses. These are the things your help will be used for. "
