PREMIERE: Check Out Swervedriver's Wavy and Acidic New Video for "I Wonder?"

Embrace the unknown and the oblivion.

Imagine for a moment that in 1998 or so, you fell into a cryogenic sleep because the death of shoegaze was too much for your tender heart to take. Your best friends decided they were going to start lifting weights and get really into nu-metal. It was frightening, and there was no reason to wake up in the morning so you decided to freeze yourself in a totally hypothetical freeze chamber in hopes that music you love would come back in a big way. If you set this imaginary freezer to around this time, you'd be incredibly happy and loving that everything came back around, and you're now sitting on your 4:3 resolution monitor watching the insanely cool visuals for Swervedriver's "I Wonder?"

Swervedriver is an incredibly influential indie rock/shoegaze band from Oxford, England. For the first time in seventeen years, the band released an incredible new album I Wasn't Born to Lose You, a summation and expansion of every guitar effect and motion found on their previous work, becoming a worthy return to music for the group. Their new video for "I Wonder?", the last song on the record, is the exact kaliedescope of colors and textures you'd want to come back to after a long freeze. The group manages to make each strum and chord warm and filled with life, sending you on a constant trip to whatever may lie ahead of you. The kaliedescope turns and turns, and the viewer is pushed into different scenes of driving and peaking in on the band playing. The song intensifies more and more, sending the scenes swinging down roads and into the unknown.

Check out the video below, and catch the band on tour soon. And you should definitely read our interview with frontman Adam Franklin right here.
