Big news is set to drop at tomorrow's Apple Worldwide Developer's Conference.

The music industry's annual Midem conference is underway in Cannes this weekend, and with it comes the expected array of chatter, bombshells and power plays. Tidal bigwig Vanya Schlogel continued the streaming service's charm offensive on Friday, while on Saturday, Epic chairman and CEO L.A. Reid distanced himself from The X Factor in the wake of the imminent death of American Idol. According to Billboard, this morning's Midem breakfast let out to news that a Q&A session following Sony Music CEO Doug Morris' keynote included confirmation that Apple's long-awaited Beats-affiliated streaming service will be unveiled tomorrow at Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference in San Francisco.

Drake just signed a lucrative deal with Apple to take part in its iTunes Radio service as a guest DJ, and Pharrell (who's been seen wearing an Apple Watch lately) is also expected to participate in some capacity. Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment's much-anticipated Surf was released last week through a rare free iTunes drop. It's probably safe to expect a few more surprise artist partnerships to be announced in the days to come. Will Kanye defect from Jay Z's Tidal cabal and hop on the Apple/Beats train, as industry insiders have suggested? We'll soon find out.
