Art is nothing if not the free exchange of feelings and ideas. Andy Warhol sought to further this agenda by pushing the commercial boundaries of art in modern society, allowing people to experience and participate in art as a public commodity through products, as well as within the confines of museums and galleries. It was in this spirit that he first collaborated with Absolut Vodka, it was another place for him to bring his art to the general public. Gleeful reproduction would follow, much to his delight. It is in that spirit that Absolut has introduced The Andy Warhol Art Exchange along with the limited Andy Warhol Edition bottle in partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

The Andy Warhol Art Exchange by Absolut is open until December 31st, and at the end of each month, your work is sent to another random participant from somewhere in the world. The art you receive you can share with your friends, or even print to hang. One participant will be chosen at random, and will win an original Warhol Photograph, taken by the man himself in 1985. While that honor will be reserved for one lucky artist, what is guaranteed is that you will receive something unique and considerate from a stranger, and will have the joy of giving someone else the same sensation. Once your image is submitted, the possibilities for where it could go are endless.

The program is exactly what the title might lead one to think. Participants can exchange their own pre existing art works with other users all over the globe, or create a new piece on the site itself. The site offers tools to manipulate pre existing work you may have created on your phone or computer, or you can start from scratch with custom silkscreen tools and brushes. Digital files can be submitted from your personal computer, or through your usual social media, giving the program the expansive feel it deserves. With tools that lend itself to multidisciplinary works from all walks of life, the possibilities seem endless, but the real connectivity and reward comes once you submit.
