Here's Kesha's Emotional First Live Performance of "Praying"

Though we've been hearing heaps of new music from Kesha in the run up to the release of her album Rainbow (finally due this Friday, August 12), so far there's been little in the way of live performances. Today, with only three days to go until the release, that has changed, and we have been treated to the emotional footage of the first ever live outing for the album's lead single "Praying."

Before launching into the track, Kesha announced "This is the first time that we're gonna have ever played 'Praying' in front of anyone, so this is very special." She told the crowd of fans that she hoped that the song was also special to them, and though visibly emotional throughout, her raspy, almost country-esque voice underlined the vocal talent that she is revealing to many for the first time, considering the bratty talk-singing style she employed for most of her career before now. It's exciting to see her embracing her full potential—here's hoping that more performances of the album's other tracks are on their way.
