Here Is Lil Wayne's Most Funniest Joke

Let's talk currency—and, while we're at it, Curren$y.

Day 345: "Diamonds and Girls" feat. Curren$y – The Drought Is Over 2 (The Carter 3 Sessions), 2007

Despite what we talked about yesterday, the biggest losers in the Carter III leaks were not necessarily the true heads who were deprived of Wayne's bars. There's also an argument that Wayne's longtime collaborators Mack Maine and Curren$y lost ground as Wayne continued to shift away from the types of relatively straightforward songs that had defined Tha Carter II and Like Father, Like Son toward weirder pop fare. Maybe they never would have made the album anyway. But maybe Curren$y would have gone on to be a successful Cash Money artist if he had been included rather than neglected.

We'll never know, but at least we can appreciate the fun that is "Diamonds and Girls." Why is this song fun? Because it includes Wayne at his funniest. See? He goes, "And here's my most funniest joke: I'm broke." He might be laughing to the bank, but it doesn't hurt that he leaves us laughing in his wake at the sheer audacity of such a silly line.
