The EDMbiz Lineup is Almost As Stacked as the EDC Lineup

...and whatever happened to the EDM Awards?

While ravers from around the world are pouring into Las Vegas next month for EDC, the EDMbiz conference will be taking place at the Cosmopolitan Hotel on the Vegas Strip. The schedule of speakers has just been released and, if you're into the business side of things, it rivals the EDC lineup itself.

KCRW's Jason Bentley will host for the third year in a row, and keynote addresses include Hardwell and Above & Beyond. We know these guys can rock stages with hundreds of thousands of people, so it'll be cute to watch them get all nervous about public speaking.

The inimitable Bob Lefsetz will be also be speaking, as will THUMP's Editor-in-Chief, Zel McCarthy. The conference will also feature talks by both SFX and Live Nation's heads of strategy and acquisition, after which both companies will presumably try to buy each other. Other speakers incude Matthew Adell (CEO, Beatport), Tom Windish (President, The Windish Agency) and the managers of Tiësto and Martin Garrix. That's a whole lot of power in one room.

Reports as recently as February stated that this year's EDMbiz conference would host the first ever EDM Awards. It seems things have gone silent on that front. It's a shame. We heard Avicii was already drafting an acceptance speech for 'Best Use of Banjo in an EDM Track'.
