Neil Young Brings His Extremely Expensive PonoMusic Player to Canada

Time to Pono up the cash.

No more rockin' in the free world.

At least not if you want to listen to Neil Young's PonoMusic player, a $400 device which the rock legend from Ontario recently made available to his fellow Canadians.

PonoMusic came to fruition out of a celebrity-endorsed Kickstarter campaign, which raked in over 6 million dollars in backings since its inception late last year.

The Pono boasts ultra high-quality audio resolution almost unheard in an era of highly compressed digital music. Imagine the beautiful sound quality of vinyl, but replace the record player with a bright yellow, triangular preschool building block.

Toys this fancy don't come cheap. You're going to have to pony up the cash if you want bragging rights to this exclusive sound system.

Maybe Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon for $19.49? Sure, iTunes has the same record for just $10.99.

Your music player costs more than your friends'. The album it's playing costs more than any other version. But hey, it's all right there on the company's website, "Pono means righteous."

Yeah. Self-righteous.
