Donald Trump’s Daughter’s Cheesy 2011 Dance-Pop Song Is the National Anthem That the US Deserves
Before her father ran for commander-in-chief, Tiffany Trump made a bid for Top 40 radio domination.
With Donald Trump officially becoming the GOP presidential nominee this week in Cleveland, Ohio, putting him one step closer to his goal of ruining the United States beyond recognition, it's probably time for the former Apprentice host to chose a new national anthem. Sure he's already pissed off Queen by entering the Republican National Convention to "We Are The Champions," but once he beats Hilary in November, he's going to need something motivational, uplifting, and most importantly, youthful (we can't all have Grammy Award-winning artist Cher in our corner).
Luckily for The Donald, he's already got a former musician in the family, 22-year-old Tiffany Trump, who recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. The daughter of the orange-coiffed billionaire businessman and his second wife, Marla Maples, released her first and only single "Like a Bird" (disappointingly not a Nelly Furtado cover) in 2011 when she was only 17. She even made an appearance on Oprah to promote the so-bad-it's-good song, an honor usually reserved for heavyweights like Justin Bieber or Nicki Minaj.
While the track features plenty of cheesy synths and heavily Auto-Tuned vocals from Sprite and Logic—the latter not to be confused with the Los Angeles-based rapper of the same name—the clear star here is Ms. Trump. Admittedly the lyrics need work, with the young Tiffany pleading for serenity at one point like an infinitely wealthier Frank Costanza, but "Like a Bird" shows promise. We could see this one being given new life with a Jersey club remix or dropped into a set by somebody from Fade To Mind.
Listen to the track that one THUMP editor described as "Italo Jennifer Lopez" here before it's scrubbed from the internet, but don't say we didn't warn you.
