Murray Christmas: Brothers Andy and Jamie are Atop the Tennis World

Andy Murray finished the year as the No. 1 tennis player in the world, and his brother Jamie is on the No. 1 ranked doubles team.

It's Thanksgiving week, so the holidays are officially upon us. And I for one, am glad to live in a country where it's still okay to say "Murray Christmas."

And why wouldn't they be merry in the Murray household? 2016 has been quite a year for the family (minus that whole Scotland got left holding the Brexit bag thing). Andy ended his season over the weekend in grand fashion, beating archnemesis Novak Djokovic 6-3 6-4 at London's O2 Arena to win his first ATP World Tour Finals title. He ends the year as the No. 1 player on the planet. Along the way, he won Wimbledon for the second time, and took home a gold medal at the Rio Olympics.

Not to be outdone, older brother Jamie—the one on the left in the slightly more demure ugly Christmas sweater—became part of the top-ranked doubles team along with partner Bruno Soares. The duo won both the Australian and U.S. Open and cemented their place atop the year-end rankings the day before Andy held serve and did the same.

Oh, and would you look at this? Here's the whole Murray clan talking about their amazing boys, mum, grandmum, grandpa…Aww, Mom can't stand to sit by her Dad because he's too negative. So sweet, just like the rest of us this holiday season.

It appears the Murray brothers are going to revelry it up from now to Hogmanay. Dunblane is going to be lit. So raise a glass of Glengoyne to the British Tennis Monarchy, and say it loud, say it proud.

Murray Christmas!
