Paul Pierce Hits Game-Winning Buzzer Beater to Stop Hawks Comeback

Paul Pierce hit another game-winner at the buzzer for the Wizards, this time ending a 21-point fourth-quarter comeback by the Hawks.

The Wizards blew a 21-point, fourth-quarter lead somehow, and Paul Pierce, somehow, hit another huge bucket. With time ticking away and Atlanta trailing the Wizards by three, Dennis Schroder slipped in the corner, yet managed to get it to Mike Muscala who hit the three with 14 seconds left to tie the game up at 101-101. The Wizards called timeout and drew up the game-winning play: get all the way out of Paul Pierce's way. And they executed it to perfection.

Bradley Beal killed some time dribbling around and then he passed off to Pierce who backed his way down and then stepped back for a turn around jumper (off the glass) just before the buzzer sounded to give the Wizards a 103-101 win and 2-1 series lead. After the shot, Chris Broussard asked if he called glass and Pierce responded that he called game, and then left the interview as Broussard tried to ask another question. We're all winners here.

Don't sleep on the John Wall celebration, it's a good (and safe) one.
