Have Your Dreams Illustrated in 24 Hours with Dream Dial

It's as easy as calling 1 (844) DRM-DIAL and leaving a message detailing your dream. A day later, an illustrated version of your vision will appear on Tumblr.

I had the craziest dream: barely able to see above a front yard of healthy, ankle-high bermuda grass, my best friend bounces towards me, a miniature micro-elephant, fully-grown at 8" tall, tusks like in Romano's Miniature Zoo, but wilier, like this tiny piglet.

In real life, I want to save this magical imaginary moment forever, so I call DRM-DIAL, the “non-generative” holiday dreamation project by Antarctic, and leave a voicemail on their answering machine. Less than 24 hours later, an illustrated version of my dream appears on the DRM-DIAL Tumblr, every bit as triumphant as my original dream, alongside a Soundcloud link to a voicemail message with a familiar-sounding story.

Have you had a dream you couldn't shake? Do you need it to be more tangible, or wish that someone else could see what you saw? Call 1 (844) DRM-DIAL. They'll illustrate your dream in 24 hours. Sound too good to be true? Let Antarctic Lead Creative Michael Yuasa explain:

Dream #2: Tiny Elephant Friend

DRM-DIAL was born out of a morning game of telephone with few creative friends of mine after an intensely weird dream that night about a hedgehog that whoooed like an owl when I held it. The hedgehog was fat and cute and had a big bullseye on its stomach which I think was influenced from a buckeye I had picked up in Northern Italy when I was there a few weeks prior during a trip to Udine.

I messaged my technologist friend Jonathan Chomko who we had just finished another project called ODD Lights on Ludlow Street about the dream and he suggested I have my friend Derek Charm, who is a illustrator and comic book artist, draw the whooing hedgehog, and from here the idea was born. I brought the dream sketch into the Antarctic studio that day and after a bit of back and forth with a few creatives and some gentle prodding to get Derek to agree to draw the images! we decided to begin a DRM-DIAL hotline where people could call and have their dreams sketched as the Antarctic holiday campaign.

Dream #1: Hooing Hedgehog

Antarctic calls it a "non-generative project" because of how 1:1 the process is: you leave a voicemail and an illustrator from the New York-based digital engagement and development agency—either lead comic and illustrator artist Derek Charm, Chloé Mael, or Emilio Sanchez—listens to it, and then draws your vision. "My hope is that DRM-DIAL become a really fun thing for people who have crazy and intense dreams like me but cannot draw so well," says Yuasa.

The project is in beta at the moment, and Antarctic estimates that they'll have the bandwidth to draw all the dream voicemails they'll get, well into 2015. So from flying to falling to falling-out teeth, here's your chance to give the world a slice of the life that goes on inside your subconscious mind. You have until January 15.
