Watch the Trailer for Netflix's Show About an 80s Female Wrestling League

Alison Brie and Marc Maron will star in 'GLOW,' helmed by the same folks behind 'Orange Is the New Black.'

If you're feeling pretty bleak about the country right now (like most women currently are) and just want to watch some light-hearted ass-kicking, then feast your eyes on the new trailer for GLOW, Netflix's new original series about an all-female 1980s wrestling league.

The video-streaming site dropped the first trailer for GLOW on Monday, which stars Community's Alison Brie and comedian Marc Maron, and comes from a handful of the creators behind Orange Is the New Black. Brie plays Ruth Wilder, a struggling actress in LA who stumbles into an audition for the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW)—an actual league from the era that enjoyed a short stint on TV.

It doesn't take long for Wilder to don some spandex and put people in chokeholds, and soon, she becomes one of GLOW's leading ladies. She fires up a rivalry with Debbie Eagan (played by Nurse Jackie's Betty Gilpin) and forges a bond with ringmaster Sam Sylvia, played by Maron. The whole thing looks like an updated version of League of Their Own—but with more body slams and bigger hair.

Carly Mensch, Jenji Kohan, and Tara Herrmann—all of whom worked on Orange Is the New Black—are executive producing GLOW, along with Liz Flahive, who produced Homeland and Nurse Jackie.

You can binge the hell out of GLOW on June 23, when Netflix releases every episode of season one. In the meantime, check out the trailer above.
