Leipzig's Wave-Gotik-Treffen festival attracts about 20,000 steam-punks and metalheads every year. In 2014, the guest list included people with demon wings carved into their backs, and viking guys who like to drink beer out of hollowed-out tusks.
The Wave-Gotik-Treffen festival in Leipzig, Germany, has been the world's hottest goth party for the past 23 years. This time around, between June 6 and 9, the German city was invaded by more than 20,000 steampunks, metalheads, and nerd-goths of all ages and nationalities.
About 250 bands played Wave-Gotik-Treffen's stages this year, including Christian Death, UK Decay, Oomph!, Satyricon Beastmilk, Motorama, the Soft Moon, Vatican Shadow, and Vitalic. Among the other attractions are the Museum of Medieval Torture, another museum dedicated to HR Giger, and well as a Medieval fair.
Last month I traveled to Leipzig for the festival. Here are some photos of the friends I made.
