The British Masters, Series 3 Chapter 5: Cosey Fanni Tutti

John Doran spoke to the Throbbing Gristle member and visual artist about what it feels like to spend four decades ripping down the establishment.

Ever heard of Cosey Fanni Tutti? If you haven't, you seriously need to revaluate what you've been doing all your life. Here are some things that she is best known for: being in transgressive bands like Throbbing Gristle and Chris and Cosey, being a member of the notorious 70s performance art collective Coum Transmissions, and basically doing everything in her power to shake up the establishment, including throwing exhibitions that involved used tampons and blood-covered dildos and making songs where she screams about murderers. Basically, not only has she spent the past four decades pushing boundaries, but she's spent them pretending those boundaries never existed in the first place.
