Put This Stinging Nettle Pesto on Everything

It makes killer pasta, but you should also throw it on your pizza, eggs, and steak. Or just eat it by the spoonful.

Stinging nettle is basically nature's way of telling you to fuck off. It is, more or less, a stem with a countless razor-sharp blades attached to it. It literally gets its name from the world "needle."

So why the hell would anyone want to eat it? Well, if you live in England, it might as part of a masochistic contest that leaves contestants with black mouths and abraded tongues and throats. But for the rest of us, once it's cooked, stinging nettle is actually safe to eat and has lots of purported health benefits.

More importantly, it's delicious. Just ask Michael White, Italian food legend of New York. He recently stopped by the MUNCHIES Test Kitchen to teach us how to make fresh pasta, and whipped up this stinging nettle pesto.
