Lee Tiernan touches down in San Francisco to learn how to make a Taurus cocktail with bartender extraordinaire Josh Harris. What is a Taurus, you might ask? Inspired loosely off a classic dirty martini, it's a spirit-centric drink that delivers the same ratio of gin and vermouth (plus a salty, briny accompaniment).
But the difference lies in the gin itself, which is infused with umami-rich carrots and miso. It's a hugely flavorful, simple cocktail, so don't knock it until you've tried it. At the very least, you can pretend your getting your daily dose of veggies in.
