Christian Benteke Twitter Account Accidentally Reads that He Transferred to Burnley, Not Crystal Palace

If you're going to mistakenly say that you're going for Burnley, whoever made the error, at least spell the name right.
(A screenshot of the fatal mistake.)

Sorry, Burnley fans, Christian Benteke isn't headed over to help you out this season. Burnley, who became the smallest town to ever host a Premier League club in 2009, would have been thrilled to receive the former Liverpool star, as the striker's Twitter profile indicated earlier today. But, alas, Benteke has officially transferred to Crystal Palace instead.

It's not clear exactly how the flub went down—or whether it's tied to some transfer talks that actually happened—but Benteke went on Twitter to correct the mistake, saying that the person who handles his Twitter account made the blunder:

Oops my bad lol Yes I signed for cpfc and not burnley. Sorry for the little mistake the person that manages my Twitter got a little confused

If you're going to mistakenly say that you're going for Burnley, whoever made the error, you could at least spell the name right. Yeah, whoops.
