Chase Headley Singles on Bunt That's Magnetically Attracted to Third Base Line

Chase Headley hit a bunt that rolled all the way down the third base line and came to a dead stop in the center of the chalk.

In the seventh inning of a 4-3 game against Oakland last night, Yankees third baseman Chase Headley tried to exploit the shift with a bunt single down the third base line. As it turns out, this bunt would have likely been a single even without the shift. It rolled perfectly down the line and, save for a couple brief detours into foul territory, never left the chalk. It looked like catcher Stephen Vogt may have had a chance to scoop it up during at least one of those detours, but he just wasn't quick enough. When the ball finally ran out of steam, it came to a dead stop in the very middle of the line for a base hit.
