THUMP On 1: Is Borgore a Misunderstood Genius?

We grilled him on misogyny, drugs, and life in the Israeli Defense Force.

Asaf Borger might just be the most controversial man in electronic music. The Israeli tearout provocateur has legions of fans worldwide clamoring for his salacious beats, but countless critics opposed to the racy themes in his music. He's been ripping up dancefloors for half a decade with in-your-face sonics and thematics, but does anybody know the man behind the ice cream and titties?

In this episode of Thump on One, our very own Zel McCarthy sits down with Borgore at our L.A offices and queries him on perceived misogyny in his lyrics, his place within dubstep, and how much he loves his mom.

The two get real deep – The conversation extends from Miley Cyrus, to the subliminal messages behind tracks like "Syrup," to rumors that it was drugs that led him to melt down before a main stage performance at EDC 2013. Borgore even offers some wisdom on the appropriate moments in which to spank your chick.

If you ever wanted to go a little deeper with one of the most misunderstood individuals in music, this is a good starting point.
