​With Butch, You Can't Tell Where the House Ends and the Techno Begins

German selector Butch is in the midst of a whirlwind US tour that kicked off this week in Detroit, the home of techno. Six dates later on June 20, he'll cap it all off in Chicago, the birthplace of house. It's a fitting juxtaposition for an artist who has made his name in the margins.

In celebration of Butch's stateside jaunt, he's put together a debut selection for THUMP. Just over an hour long, the mix has all the atmospheric drive of techno with the melodic interplay of house, and enough groove and complex emotivity to bring them both together fluidly.
