Lakers' Larry Nance Jr. Ruins the Old-Man Life of Warrior David West

Ooh, yeah. That's right. Nance is caressing West's head, letting him know that it's all going to be OK—some day.

You could say David West lived a fulfilled life up until the destruction of his existence: 11/4/16. He enjoyed a career in the NBA since 2003 and even played with the mighty San Antonio Spurs, but now he's no longer with us. The 36-year-old has been frozen in time, never to return, trapped helpless on a poster of Larry Nance Jr.'s choosing. Because he just got sonned, son.

West provided a nice window into how the Warriors were treated last night—caught wrong-footed, in a position to be abused, and just giving up. And abused he—and they—were. You could argue, like Steve Kerr did, that it was the Warriors' "annual beat down at Staples by the Lakers," right after the Dubs' resounding 26-point slap-down of the Thunder. But the results point to the fact that something is amiss with this year's "super" team.

The chemistry is gone; the verve, the pop, the chip on their shoulder, and all that Draymond-fueled swagger. It's almost as if their feelings are hurt because now they're cast as villains, and each time they win, it hurts them to see that prophecy come true. So they're being nice and letting the Lakeshow take over. They also swapped out a considerable amount of depth to wrangle KD, and it's showing. With Klay and Steph prone to having their off-nights, and KD still trying to find his way into the team rhythm, everything is falling flat. Cue up teams like the Lakers to serve them up some humble pie.

Let's just take a look at this living-metaphor again for a second.
