Kolten Wong Hits Walk-Off Home Run

Kolten Wong hit a walk-off home run against the Giants to tie the NLCS at 1-1.

Kolten Wong hit a line-drive solo home run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Cardinals a 5-4 walk-off win and tie their series with the Giants at 1-1. The whole game was wild, with multiple lead changes and plenty of weird action in between.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Giants chipped away scoring a run in each of the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. Cardinals rookie Oscar Tavares hit a pinch-hit home run in the seventh to tie the game at 3-3 and St. Louis took a 4-3 lead in the eighth.

The Giants then tied the game on a wild pitch in the ninth inning and it looked like we were headed for more extra innings this postseason. But Kolten Wong was the first and only batter necessary in the ninth inning and lost his shirt for his troubles.
