I had the pleasure (?) of seeing this Herzog-directed film at TIFF during an advance media screening. Half the audience of movie critics walked out in the first 10 minutes. Not me though, I had to see where this bizarre, ambling tale of corporate malfeasance, guilt, and climate change was going. And I promise you it's much, much crazier than you can even imagine. I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry at the end but irrespective of that, Michael Shannon is, as always, the fucking best.

Transformers 5: The Last Knight
There's another Transformers movie? Pardon my ignorance but why? How is Marky Mark still alive after all these robot wars, you know? This is the second trailer the studio has released and it's obviously focused on the film's new protagonist, a young girl who has been living amongst the trashed heavy metal. I think she's befriended Wall-E? Either way, I'm so confused about who is a good robot and who is a bad robot and why there's only six people left on Earth most of whom are kids.Atomic Blonde
Oh hell ya! A new professional-killing machine epic from the co-director of John Wick, David Leitch, Atomic Blonde has the potential to create a buzzy new franchise vehicle for Charlize Theron. She plays an MI6 agent sent to Berlin to protect a defector and find a missing list of British intelligence assets. Like John Wick, it's heavy on the hand-to-hand combat, with elaborate, brutal fight scenes. Unlike John Wick, Theron isn't entirely believable as a cold-hearted killer—her fight sequences look painfully awkward in this trailer. But I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for another hyperviolent flick from the Wick team.Rough Night
Oof, I want this to be good so badly. I really do. Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, and Ilana Glazer are three of the funniest young comedians working right now, and the writing team behind it are Broad City contributors, one of my favourite shows. But it's hard not to see just another formulaic, Hangover-style frat comedy vying for cheap laughs. Maybe I'm wrong and don't get it twisted, I *will* see this on opening weekend but when you amass this kind of talent, at least put it to good use.Follow Amil on Twitter
