Alo Wala Give It Up for New York City in Their "Cityboy" Video

Watch the latest from the Indian tropical bass group.

Urban world music. Global club. Whatever you want to  call it, Alo Wala are our favorite ambassadors of this exciting movement. Fronted by the Punjabi-Indian rapper Shivani Ahlowalia, the group is poised to takeover airwaves with their boisterous, tropical bass-infused sound. We're premiering the video for "Cityboy," the title track off their debut EP out on Enchufada. During her interview with THUMP, Ahlowalia told us that this song is about New York City—specifically, her quest to understand the strange breed of men who live here. As for the video, it features a cameo by dancehall vocalist Jahdan Blakkamoore, and was filmed in Alo Wala's favorite hangouts, including famed Jamaican spot Miss Lily's. Forget Taylor Swift—we like this version of New York better.
