Update [Tuesday, June 21]: Sunday night, the band released a video for the single; they are responsible for the clip's concept, while filmmaker Hannah Berzins handled DOP duties.

Sydney alt-house trio Holy Balm have always reminded me of a soundtrack on one of those early Daytona USA or Road Rash racing games from the 90s. I can't help but listen to them and think of cruising through the Nevada desert, wind in my 24-bit hair, misplaced, glitchy palms rolling past. Pink horizon in the distance. Bit like this Vine, actually.

They've always been evocative of something smooth and blissful, while coercing out of you that restless desire to dance. "Take It" from 2012's It's You was indicative of great things to come, and if "Fashion," the first single from soon-to-be-released Activity, is anything to go by, Holy Balm plan to deliver.

"We think Activity blends our biographical voice with dance music tropes such as closeness, atmospheric changes, and personal empowerment, solidifying our sound," Holy Balm said about the record. "It's a dynamic space of play and experimentation that only just reared its head with the first album, but comes into its own on Activity."

Tie the laces on your dancing shoes, and listen to exclusive premiere of "Fashion"—featuring the wonderful Marcus Whale on sax—below.

Activity is out through Chapter Music August 5. Follow Holy Balm on Facebook and SoundCloud.
