Listen to Ana Lola Roman’s Dark, Avant-Pop Track “Behind the Screens”

A dark, beautiful marriage between fluttering synthpop sequences and searing vocals.

Eclectic musician Ana Lola Roman has a haunting new track "Behind the Screens" from an upcoming full-length EP slated to drop in late October. Co-produced by Josh Ascalon (Twin Shadow, Chairlift), the EP develops the Bushwick-based songstress' dark, dreamy, synth-driven sound and uncompromisingly bleak musical voice. "Behind the Screens" features Roman's dreamy, breathless vocals layered atop of a heavy, electronic sounds with a hint of J-pop influence."We can either use our screens to fully engage and cause positive change as a human collective or we can disengage, becoming hypnotized by useless nonsense behind our screens," Roman told us over email. "It all comes down to choice." Stream "Behind the Screens" below.
