How Nightwave Warms Up for Nightrave

It may seem that you haven't heard from Glasgow-based RBMA allumni Nightwave in a long time, but that doesn't mean she hasn't been busy. Last week she came back—and came back hard—with a brand new five-track EP on her own brand new label she named Heka Trax. Heka is an Egyptian term that describes sacred sound and magic—which is exactly all things Nightwave. She couldn't have named it better.

And speaking of great names, she also has her own party called Nightrave, which she described as, "All about good times and getting back a bit of the old rave magic in places with good sound systems and minimal lighting." The sounds you'll hear at Nighrave are much like her label: juke, ghettohouse, Detroit techno, and of course some rap. They've already had several special guests, and you can find Canblaster at the next one on October 5 in Glasgow, and in Edinburgh on October 18.
