Check Out Charlotte Day Wilson's Photo Diary of Her Awe-Inspiring Newfoundland Adventures

These images from this year's Lawnya Vawnya festival will have you booking a trip to east coast Canada immediately.

While she's yet to put out a full-length album, Toronto singer-songwriter and producer Charlotte Day Wilson is quickly becoming one of our favourite new Canadian artists, making a name for herself with her warm, electronic-tinged soul tracks which draw on her background in jazz and R&B. Zane Lowe recently premiered her single "Work" on his Beats 1 show and the track was featured in an episode of the Netflix series Grace and Frankie, among other accolades. Invited to play this year's Lawnya Vawyna festival in St. John's, Newfoundland, we decided to give Wilson a disposable camera and have her document her adventures playing one of the country's most unique music festivals.

"Finally making it to the deep east of Canada was a blessing. Dramatic cliffs and colourful houses welcomed me."

"I played two sets while I was there. This one was at a brewery as part of a show crawl in a fishing village just outside of St. John's called Quidi Vidi. Wasn't mad at the backdrop."

"In St. John's you walk the same paths every day. I built a friendship with this building while walking around listening to [James Blake's] The Colour in Anything for the first time. It seemed to match the mood of the album."

"At night we went and saw indie rock bands. I learned that true rock and rollers play guitar with broken collar bones."

"Made some enthusiastic new friends."

"Catching some east coast rays."

"Sending love to the people of Newfoundland <3 Shout out to Amery and Allison who showed me a time. Unfortunately none of our bathroom selfies seemed to develop properly…"
